I was admitted as a day case at Lichfield DSU at John Radcliffe for sialdendoscopy.
I found the day ward very clean and all staff explained everything that was going on and what was happening.
The only drawback is that I was in at 7.30am and didn't go down to surgery till 2pm which is a very long wait but I suppose someone has to be at the back of the list.
The anaesthetist was great, putting my mind at ease and I was accompanied down to surgery by one of the nurses who also was chatty and put my mind at ease.
Once I came round, I was transferred back to the ward and looked after. My friend was able to stay on the ward and wait for me which was also a bonus.
My consultant came round and explained what had happened during surgery and what to expect.
Once I was ready to be discharged, I was given a full list of meds complete with instructions so felt comfortable to leave.
The NHS get so much stick for bad service and I do not understand why. I cannot fault the service I received and was very impressed with everything.
Thank you to all the staff who looked after me.
"Thank you to all the staff"
