I've been a member of the 5 Boroughs' Foundation Trust's Patient Involvement Scheme for over 12 months now and I remain continually impressed with the very progressive ethos that runs throughout the Team towards both current service delivery standards and also future care improvements. It has the very active backing of the Executive team, who regularly make themselves directly very available to its Service Users & Carers, and the Involvement Scheme team itself carries through this very open & honest attitude: they're all very personable and welcoming, experienced people that work cheerily and selflessly to "look after their fold", respecting individuals' needs & circumstances very professionally. They organise and host a very active and wide-ranging calendar of Service User & Carer engagements for us, and they channel our input and experiences directly into the Trust's respective business delivery steams to maximise our contributions - alongside all that, it's fun to be a part of and it does wonders for individual's personal development. The Trust's Involvement Scheme team is also cohesively linked to both its PALS and its Complaints teams, all of which harnesses the same progressive ethos to investigating and resolving any shortcomings: these are openly & genuinely welcomed as "an opportunity for improvement". All-in-all, a shining example of how the value of patient experience & opinion can be personably and sincerely encouraged and then embedded progressively into patient care. "Well Done..! and carry on..."
"a very progressive Patient Involvement Scheme"
