What I liked
The orthopaedic department treated me for carpal tunnel in Jan 2011 and a shoulder impingement in July 2011. I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Appointments have been sent through quickly, I have always been seen on time (or even earlier than the time stated on the letter!), staff have always been kind and courteous, my conditions have been explained in plain English, diagnostic testing (such as MRI scans) have been available on weekends, the hospital is a pleasant environment and is always clean, surgery has been undertaken effectively and efficiently, and staff have always been kind and patient. I am always impressed with the Great Western whenever I have dealings with it - I presented with a somewhat peculiar set of conditions and was referred to other departments when necessary (rheumatology and pain management) with the minimum of fuss. Again, I would speak as highly of the other departments I have dealt with, who have all bent over backwards/gone the extra mile to help me.
What could be improved
Nothing - my experience was one of excellence.
"Kind, patient staff who manage surgical procedures..."
