"Mixed experience"

About: Royal Oldham Hospital / Maternity

(as a service user),

I am a patient with urology and pregnancy. My experiences have been in A&E and antenatal on many dates over the last few months.

I was under the care of a doctor called Matt. He was absolutely fantastic, friendly, professional, understanding and was very reassuring of what and why he was doing the test and procedures. If all doctors were the same I think the NHS would be highly thought of.

Also a fantastic doctor on another visit was Dr Choudry and the head nurse an A&E ward, was lovely.

I haven't had the best experiences with the consultants on antenatal, very abrupt and blunt. One doctor's advice in their words was if you feel shit then stay in; very unprofessional. All the ladies in purple are always lovely and friendly.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the A&E and Maternity services here at The Royal Oldham. I am pleased to hear that you were made to feel at ease by the team on A&E. However, I am disappointed to learn that you did not have a positive experience during your stay on the Antenatal Ward. I am sorry if you were distressed as a result of the unacceptable language that was used. Please accept our apologies and contact me directly on the email address below so that I can look further into this on your behalf.

I will tell our maternity support workers 'the ladies in purple' that they were lovely and friendly. They are a vital part of our team and will welcome your comments.

Once again thank you for your feedback
