I was transferred to the Uroligy department of St James Hospital. This was the worst experience I have ever had in my life. From what I experienced the staff were rude harsh and uninterested. I had to buzz for 20 mins when i needed the machine I was hooked up to undoing so i could have a wee. I suffer very badly with my nerves and was told i was a child for this, i spent half the time on my bed sobbing.
I was very weak and dehydrated but made to walk to an ultra sound department with my drip only to find out I should not have been there. Then i was left for 25 mins until i was taken were i should have been. When my family were not around staff were huffy and rude but when family came they acted differently.
If i was hospital phobic in the start then St james has put me off for life. I have had a younger brother die in St James in the past therefore feel my nerves at being admited were slightly justified but as mentioned above my nerves did not make me a popular patient.
I also had an elderley frail person next to me who had to ask for an hour for some help to get into bed. Thank you St James staff for giving me the incentive to stay well and never have to visit a hospital again.
"Horrible experience at St James University Hospital."
