What I liked
I went for a consultation about tingling fingers with consultant hand surgeon. They explained the nerve conduction studies test and the options for treatment. Currently I am wearing a nightime splint provided by the hospital and doing regular hand exercises, as recommended by their specialist Hand Occupational Therapist.
I liked the fact that the hospital didn't immediately suggest surgery and that they reassured me that I am not losing any muscle function. They will review my hand and keep it under observation for any deterioration. Risks and benefits of the treatment were explained.
See a specialist registrar first and then the consultnat reassured me I was in extremely safe and professional hands.
What could be improved
Nothing - it was exceptional.
Anything else?
If all NHS and private hospitals worked like this one, it would be fantastic!
"Consistently excellent care and good..."
