"wonderful care of my daughter - THANK YOU"

About: Dorset County Hospital / Accident and emergency

Really kind ambulance team who quickly calmed down the immediate breathing problem that my young daughter was experiencing with appropriate drugs. Was seen quickly at hospital by a friendly and approachable doctor who was fabulous too.

The only tiny improvement could have been communication between departments: I was told I would have to stay in all night with my daughter so I sent my husband home at 10pm (an hours drive) but at 11pm they said that the advice was incorrect so I had to call him back again thus he spent all night in the car rather than being with us!!

Thank you to everyone in the brilliant and caring team who managed what was a very scary situation with efficiency and empathy. It makes you so glad to have the NHS - we appreciate you!!!

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback about your daughter's recent visit to the Emergency Department. I am really pleased to hear that she was seen quickly and efficiently, and that the team were approachable and empathic.

I note your comment about communication and will make sure that it is passed on to the ED team; I wonder whether any proposed treatment plan was amended between 10-11pm, thus changing the advice given? Either way, I can appreciate that this must have been frustrating for both you and your husband and would like to apologise to you both.

I hope that your daughter is now recovering well - thank you again for your kind words which I will ensure are fed back to ED.

Best wishes,

Becky Protopsaltis
