"Problems with one member of a very good team"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

i was set to the peggy cole unit 2day (friday 17th dec 2010) by my doctor who was worried i may hav ectopic pregnancy, after really bad pain the night b4 and brown discharge. the staff , altho very busy , where lovly to me,even tho they couldnt give me any real answers as could only see sac so may have dates wrong , but i may still b in danger.

Doctor said 2 do hCG level tests and explained what the levels may mean and then work from there. nurse (think she was, may of been higher) took blood sample , and said results take 4/5 hours , and she would of left off by then , but not to worry as she would make sure results where read and if i rang between 7 and 8 tonight they would tell me and say if any action needed to be taken , she gave me phone number and said there is a gyne doctor at end of phone 24 hours.

so i rang at 7;15 told , doctors too busy at mo and would ring me back that night.....10 o'clock and nothing , so rang back, nurse answered, said no doctor will be reading results, she wasn’t told to tell me anything and there was no point until i had another test done monday,. i tried to explain that they had said they would and she said they had no right to tell me that, she was so cold and matter of fact.... i know everyone has bad days, but being on that unit or ward she should understand that i was having a bad day, i have had 5 miscarriages, i had been waiting since 1;30 to know results..... i will complain in person when i go back monday, meanwhile i must try not to worry all weekend , thanks to one seemingly uncaring member of a very good team.
