What I liked
Going home. Doctors were superb but good care ended there.
What could be improved
Hygiene, nutrition, communication, discharge and general nursing care. Vulnerable adult (79), not eating, not monitored nutritionally, bed surroundings dirty (oxgygen/suctions tubing - on two different wards!), didn't shower in over a week as couldn't manage on own but no-one checked. Family asked for patient assessment so that help at home could be arranged on discharge. Not done - on day of discharge, had vulnerable 79 year old (my mum) had a front door key, they were going to ring for a taxi for her and let her go home on her own! Mum caught impetigo whilst in hospital but not diagnosed for nearly a week despite repeatedly pointing it out to staff.
