What I liked
Not much. I have been attending out-patient appointments in the Gastro-Enterology department ofr several years now and I have not had any worthwhile expereinces during this time. I have had four appointments cancelled with no or little [one day] notice, when I've had to book time off work and have ended up out of pocket financially due to this. On complaining to the chief exectuive I received the bog-standard letter of apology, staff on annual leave etc...That's just not good enough. North Middlesex has spent goodness know's how many millions on a new hospital whilst seeming to have forgotten that the hospial requires staff to help it work!! My experiences at the hospital have led me to seeking my reviews in a different and I must say better hospital, which is sad really as we as patients shouldn't have to put up with this.
What could be improved
Quite a lot. More Doctors, better communication phoning me one day prior to my appointment to cancel is just wrong.
Anything else?
I don't appear to be the only patient having suffered a bad experience within the Gastro-Enterology department, maybe there's a trend there that the people in power [ie, chief exec] are ignoring or aren't really trying to improve!
