I went in for a hip replacement at the Barnsley District General Hospital. The best things about my time there were the kindness of all the staff and the way in which I was informed of the necessity of my treatment. Improvements could be made to the hospital meals, though, as they were not very nice. At one point, I did feel embarrassed, as I was made to wait for a bed pan and I had to relieve myself in the bed - this upset me a lot. However, on the whole, the standard of nursing care was very good - I would like to thank the nurses David, Mark & Yvonne on Ward 34 in particular.
