"Inedible food served to patients"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General surgery Colchester General Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My Father in law had the misfortune to go into firstly Chelmsford Hospital to have an operation, the food there was to my opinion horrible. My father in law lost weight in there as he couldn't eat the food tasteless and unappetising. He then after coming home was rushed into Colchester Hospital and lo and behold the food there is worse, grey looking fish in what I would describe as wallpaper paste. When someone is used to being fed good quality food on a daily basis going into hospital is very worrying. I wonder if anyone has noticed how much waste is happening and how much it cost to take the waste food away probably more then the food cost. Can't we have good quality food tasteful and nutritious served in hospitals as food is very important for the speedy recovery of ill people.
