My Mother in law unfortunately had to attend the A&E following a fall in May, and was treated promptly and kindly until able to be discharged.
Subsequently she required further admission with breathing difficulties last week, and was cared for for 48 hours on the acute assessment ward 34 and then moved to ward 52.
The care she received as a very elderly fragile lady was exemplary - everyone who was in contact with her treated her with dignity, explained what they were doing and listened to her concerns.
She had times of being distressed psychologically and this was handled with attentiveness and kindness, staff spending time to reassure her.
She sadly has attended a number of hospitals in the last 2 years in the area she previously lived, and my husband and I can honestly say Darlington and the staff we came into contact with, and the care provided far surpassed our other experiences.
Thank you all so much.
