What I liked
From the moment that I suspected that I was having a heart attack, 11th April 2010, everything was done to ensure that I was treated immediately. The ambulance arrived before my wife had completed the 999 call. The ambulance men were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and put me at ease at a frightening time. The staff at the hospital kept me informed of the procedures that were to be used and I was operated on very quickly. The ward was clean and the staff were extremely helpful. The Doctors were extremely impressive, and my treatment was exceptional. Even the food was good!
I saw the nutritionist while I was in hospital and the information that she gave me set me up for when I got home and no longer had the back up of the hospital.
As I live in Birmingham everything was put in place for me to begin my rehabilitation and see a cardiologist at the Queen Elizabeth hospital.
I was impressed that a lady doctor came in on her day off to give 3 students the opportunity to practise diagnosis on one of the other patients. This seems to typify the conscientiousness of the staff.
Although I would rather not have had a heart attack, if it had to happen this was certainly the place to do it.
I cannot express my thanks enough to all concerned in the ambulance service, Cath lab, ward A7 and the doctors and nurses who took care of me.
What could be improved
Absolutely nothing
Anything else?
I am a watercolour artist and would like to donate an original framed painting to the hospital as a thank you for all that you have done - would you please let me know how I go about this. I would be happy to send you a photograph to show the suitability of my work - please let me have an email address if you would like me to do this.
thanks
Graham Wilson
