My mum has been having some tests recently after an abnormal chest X-ray. On Thursday we were invited to the respiratory clinic at pilgrim hospital to receive the results of the biopsys. We went into a room with a doctor and the nurse and were told mum has an advanced lung cancer. Although it was what we expected to hear those words was a shock to us all. The doctor was very kind and caring and we could see how much he hated telling us this news, it clearly wasn't just a job to him. The nurse took us into another room and explained everything to us, she kept us calm and made us all laugh and we cannot thank her enough for making a very horrible day a little bit brighter, we left feeling positive and I definitely feel that my precious mum is in very good hands. We have a long journey ahead, but if everyone is as kind and caring as gill was to us then we know we will be fine. Thankyou so much xx
