"I felt the level of staffing was inadequate"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as the patient),

I spent 3hrs waiting in a cold and poorly organised waiting area. The entry doors are jammed open, which makes the waiting room freezing cold, every time the outer doors opened a blast of cold air came in.

The way the seating is arranged feels like there is no escape, if you are already poorly it doesn't help.

I don't think that patients are triaged to make sure the most in need are seen first, to make sure they are treated in a timely fashion or are in the best place to be treated appropriately. I felt it was clear that the level of staffing was inadequate for the demand.

This Unit should never have been downgraded. I think that Fife Health board should be ashamed of the service they have left the people of central and west Fife with.

Dear Katherine 22

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of attending the Minor Injury Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital. You have made a number of observations which have been passed on to the Management Team for further consideration. I will let you know if any improvements are made as a result.

Thanks again for taking the time to post.

Regards

Louise
