Yet again I have to sing the praises of the Urology dept for the way they are dealing with my unexpected return on Tuesday afternoon. Having been taken into the LRI A & E and well cared for I was transported to LGH with confirmed kidney stone problems.
It was very busy and t was quite a long wait but the outcome was speedily resolve and I attended today Friday and had a session of ESWL to shatter a large stone.
The consultant who I cant name here was very friendly and decided to take a look with a cystoscope as they weren't convinced the stone was still in my kidney.
Sure enough they were right but it was still suitable for shattering. I was very well looked after by concerned staff as I have great difficulty lying face down.
After the treatment I was given a welcome cup of tea and told I would need to go back in about two weeks for xrays as they may need to take a second shot at it.
I have nothing but praise for every member of staff I have encountered in my visit this week as I have previously.
Keep up the good work. You are all worth your weight in gold
