"Mice!"

My Father is in the South wing, Rochester floor 4.. This evening whilst I was visiting him, several mice ran around his bed! I was horrified! I asked the other patients in his room if this had happened before, they said it is a regular occurrence.

I spoke to the nurses who appeared to be aware of the rodent problem.

I'm utterly appalled that you have patients who are very ill and vulnerable staying in the hospital in these unhygienic conditions. I would like proof and evidence that something is going to be done to eliminate the mice on this ward. If this doesn't happen I shall take my complaint further.

I'm sorry to hear this. I can understand why this would be distressing for you and I would like to speak to you to give you a fuller report about what we're doing to eliminate the problem. Can you please call me on 020 3317 3969.

This has been reported to pest control and they will be coming back today to check that there are no further sightings. We are working closely with the landlord of the building and we are also looking at how we can accommodate people in other beds.
