"Everyone we dealt with was really helpful and friendly"

About: Borders General Hospital / Paediatrics (Ward 15)

(as a parent/guardian),

My 3 year old son trapped his finger in a door and had to be taken to the Borders General Hospital to get his finger sewn up but he was very upset and is quite scared of doctors and hospitals. My wife and I were very concerned. From start in A&E through X-ray, Anesthesia, Surgery and Ward 15, we got great service and felt that the staff cared about my son's wellbeing. This made everything so much easier and made my son feel at ease. We felt every option was looked at carefully and made a stressful time for us both more bearable.

The nurses in ward 15 were great and the anaesthetist were brilliant although everyone we dealt with was really helpful and friendly. Thanks to all.

Dear Craigs123,

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience in the Borders General Hospital. As a mum, I'm aware how worrying it is when your children are injured or unwell. I'm so glad that our team in the BGH was able to reassure you (as parents) and most importantly was able to sort out your son's finger without too much more trauma.

I will pass on your response to the various teams involved and can assure you that they will be really grateful to hear of your positive experience.

I hope your son is now recovering well and back to fun and play!

With best wishes,

Lynn
