"Sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Drug and alcohol service

(as the patient),

Nurse prescriber wise, it takes a while to see them sometimes, they could do with more prescribers.

Sometimes it takes a while to get an appointment and this has happened a few times. Sometimes the prescription has not been sent and a few times the collection hasn't been able to made, which can set progress back. It would be good to also have a weekend on call so that problems can be sorted if any problems arise.

Jodean is brilliant, she's really good - never had a problem with her, not her fault that appointments cannot be made!

Dear Christina007

Thank you for posting this feedback - Jodean will be delighted to see these positive comments.

We are always looking at ways we can improve our services and seeing more clients more quickly is a priority. One of the things we are looking at is how we can reduce the number of people who don't turn up for their appointments. Recent statistics highlighted that 40% of clients are not turning up for appointments which means that appointment could have been given to someone else. We will be working with clients to see what we can do to improve this in the future.

We are also working with our colleagues in lifeline to review options for opening on a Saturday morning where there will be a prescriber available too.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Best wishes

Sarah

After comments we've received about access to prescribing appointments, Locala, as part of CHART are holding a drop in session on the 4th July 2017 between 11.30am and 12.30pm at 3 Union Bank Yard, New Street, HD1 2BP. Members of the prescribing team will be available to discuss how we can improve service user access.

There will be tea, coffee and biscuits available during the drop in event.

We really are looking forward to hearing your views and ideas. So please drop in to see us.
