"Receptionist at my surgery"

About: NHS England London

(as a service user),

I was waiting at my doctors practice and a child vomited in the waiting room.

No one from the reception appeared to notice. Anot her patient went to Reception and suggested the mother needed some help. She had a 2 year old with vomit all down him a big pool of it on the floor and a small baby. Poor lady.

The receptionist came out with a vomit pack, ripped it open, threw it down on the chair and said " You need to deal with it" No smile, asking her or the child if they were alright no support at all she just walked away.

Disgraceful behaviour from a  receptionist supposedly within a caring environment.

The mother had no idea how to deal with a vomit pack and was left trying to sort it out.

Fortunately some members of public were not of the same ilk as the receptionist.
