"Dissapointed with the service"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Outpatients

(as the patient),

I recently attended day surgery for a procedure which I was a little anxious about, when I spoke to the the nurse their answer was "you're a grown man you'll be fine" I'm afraid when you're getting tests done to see the extent of something that had already been suggested I felt the comment was said with no compassion or empathy. The member of staff did my blood pressure while having a chat to another member of staff. The nurse continued to chat to someone else the whole way through and it seemed to me that they couldn't of cared less. I realize that nurses are busy as my wife herself is a nurse but even she was annoyed when I got ignored and to be honest snubbed by this nurse. Very disappointing, I have to go back again soon and I'm dreading it.

Hello there

Thanks for taking the time to share this with us and please accept my apology that a distressing enough time was made more difficult by this experience. As one of the managers of the Day Surgery unit, I expect much better for my patients and am disappointed its left you fearful of returning. I will discuss with the team and am sure they will be disappointed that you left unhappy.
