"Shocking treatment!"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital / Maternity care

This issue is not with the staff but the NHS service I have received in general. I was booked in for induction at 39 weeks on Monday 13th Feb 2017, only to be told that I wasn't a priority and there were no beds available for me, I was told I would be in that evening, then that turned to the next day, that then moved to the next morning, then the next, finally got to Thursday morning of being let down and was told there was a bed.

Having turned up at the hospital, I was then told no bed and on a joint ward with their women, they then got me a bed in a room. I was told they could simply break my waters after an examination, but they couldn't due to lack of midwives to take care of me, I was then told it would be Thursday night/Friday morning, they then did more examinations etc and Friday morning quickly became Friday night when I was then told I was no longer having a room, they were taking my room for other woman to deliver and they still won't break my waters due to lack of staff for care - at what point does this get old?!

It's become so stressful and upsetting to be made to feel like livestock with a number and to keep being pushed back and deprioritised and made to feel in the way on a daily basis, like I was taking up their time and shouldn't be here - this is still ongoing, couldn't be more disappointed, all the while I feel for the staff as they are just trying to deal with the situation the best they can but that does not help me - women should be prepared for this if they intend on having their baby in Halifax - absolutely shocking, I will not be coming here again, this has ruined the experience of my first baby!
