"My operation never took place"

About: Chelsfield Park Hospital

I was given an appointment to undergo a procedure that needed anesthesia. My appointment letter said last food intake 7a.m. and last fluid intake 9a.m. My actual appointment time was 12.30 p.m. But at 2p.m a nurse told me the procedure is delayed until 4.p.m. I told the nurse how lightheaded I was because of fasting but they confirmed no food or fluid is allowed. By 5p.m nothing happened and nobody showed up in my room. After questioning when will be my procedure, the nurse said there has been a mixed up and I'll have to wait at least 1 hour more. They could not confirm if at 6 p.m they will for sure carry on with the procedure or not. After 10 hours of fasting which a couple of hours of it involved me shivering and trembling due to dehydration and/or low blood sugar, I decided to leave the hospital as anesthesia would be dangerous in that case and there was no guarantie about when they wanted to do the procedure anyway. They are extremely unprofessional and disorganised when it comes to manage the appointments.
