"Respiratory team (COPD)"

About: Medway Community Healthcare / Community respiratory team

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed about 4 years ago with severe COPD.  Initially the team made contact and I had a home visit, that was the last time I saw them. I have been under my doctors who are often overwhelmed and to busy and making appointments is extremely difficult. I am trying to carry on working rather than be a burden on the state but it is very difficult when you cannot breathe. My last two visits to the doctors about my breathing he diagnosed an infection and just gave me antibiotics and prednisolone both times, they made no difference I still have trouble breathing and its got to the point where even having a bath and getting dressed leaves me breathless. they don't listen.

The Anoro does not work and the salbutamol rescue inhaler works after about 30 or 40 puffs but only for a short time. I feel like my whole day is consumed by my fight to breathe and just keep going. I was on seretide and tiotropium but that was changed with no explanation as to why that change was made. I feel my condition is going down hill faster than it needs to. I need the right meds to help me breathe and stay working and independent. I feel shut out and ignored, just another statistic.
