I have been here for one and a half years. I was on low secure before and I had a lot more things. , I was able to keep my own sharps in my room as long as I locked them away. At my last place, I was involved in the risk assessments, here I am not. Everyone should have a different risk assessment.
I am waiting to move to Northampton. Getting unescorted leave is a massive thing and getting this matters to me a lot. Here unescorted is in the community. I think patients should be mixing and I have heard that they can't mx in Northampton and I am moving there soon so if this is true, I don't understand how you can prepare people if they can't mix. When you go out into the community there is a whole range of people out there. Here they don't prepare you. Here is so restrictive. It feels like I am back in prison. In prison I had remote control cars in my bedroom, here I can't have anything like this. The team don't listen to me although I have a new manager now so I am listened to better. I know where I stand with the new manager. I get frustrated because things are not consistent and I get told that I can have something, but then later they say "I never said that". Things are not explained here. I got things when I was in medium secure so why am I more restricted here? This is a low secure unit but it feels more restricted.
