"Exceptional care"

About: University Hospital (Coventry) / Oncology

I received exceptional care during the 14 months I was being treated for breast cancer. I was particularly impressed by the joined up thinking between the various departments and the care taken to make sure I received the best treatment tailored to me. The two breast care nurses (surgical and oncology) showed me empathy and were always ready to answer questions. They also rang me frequently just to check how I was doing which was a welcome surprise. At all times I felt fully informed and both surgical and oncology consultants always gave me as much time as I needed - I never felt rushed.
