"doctor's attitude in outpatients"

About: My Nursery United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I had an appointment due to military injuries, being a war veteran has its issues and problems.

My appointment was with the Out patients Department.

On entering the doctor's office I was met with a limp out stretched arm while he was reading probably, my documents. I wanted to say do I kiss it or try to shake it, I felt he was ignorant rude and full of himself.

I sat down to be questioned as why I was there. The lovely nurse passed over some documents and he threw them back stating he did not want them and threw them back telling her that next time they would be on the floor. I felt sorry for her, the only reason why I did not say something was if this doctor was going to inject my spine I would rather just ignore the man.

I wish to make a complaint about this. I told the nurse about what I am going to do and other nurses said he is not the only one. The staff have enough to cope with, patients stress and their consideration for patients!

Dear Soldier

I am truly sorry for the attitude and behaviour of one of our clinicians in the outpatients department at Grantham Hospital. This clearly does not meet the Trust's values and behaviour standards which are key in us providing sustainable high quality patient centred care to our patients and also the respect to fellow colleagues.

I have already shared your story with the staff who manage the outpatient service at Grantham and in order for me to take it further, would you please contact me personally so I can seek some further details from you which will allow us to speak to the doctor. My email is sharon.kidd@ulh.nhs.uk or you can call me on 01476 464560.

I just want to thank you for taking to time to post this and pleased be assured we do take all feedback seriously.

Regards

Sharon
