"Paramedics were superb"

About: South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust The Tunbridge Wells Hospital / A&E and trauma unit

(as the patient),

Muscle in my back was in spasm and I had been lying on the bedroom floor unable to move because of the pain since 8am. I had assumed the pain would subside! The first two paramedics arrived within 15 minutes. Unfortunately Entonox was insufficient to relieve the pain so another 2 paramedics arrived who were able to administer I/v Morphine. With assistance I was then able to hobble down my 3 flights of stairs to the waiting ambulance.

Throughout my ordeal, from initial assessment to delivering me at A&E the 4 paramedics were superb & very reassuring to my partner too.

Dear Edwina

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback about our attendance to you recently. It must have been quite an ordeal for you, and I am so pleased that the ambulance crews who attended were able to help you and were reassuring to both you and your partner.

Ambulance crews really do appreciate receiving feedback from patients, as they rarely get to hear how their patients have got on once they have taken them to hospital. If you have time and would like us to pass on your thanks to the crews themselves, please feel free to email our Patient Experience Team at pet@secamb.nhs.uk, or to telephone 0300 123 9242, letting us know the date and the address to which the ambulance was called so that we can identify the staff concerned.

I do hope you are recovering well from this episode, and thank you very much again for your kind comments.

Wishing you all the very best for the future, Louise Hutchinson
