I was taken to hospital suffering from chest pain.
I was under observation in a&e for a few hours then transferred to ward 8 where observation and monitoring continued overnight. The following morning with no other warning signs, I suffered a massive heart attack on the ward. I was immediately stabilised and within about 20 minutes, transferred by emergency ambulance to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle where I was immediately treated and had several cardiac stents fitted.
The care, respect and treatment I received at both hospitals as well as while being transported by ambulance was exemplary and I have absolutely nothing but praise and gratitude for the staff involved.
