"So Frightened"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital / Breast surgery

I Sadly lost my amazing dad to Lung Cancer through a sudden diagnosis and nursed him at home.

Weeks after burying him I had my 2nd 3,year appointment for Mamogram at 52.

I attended the appointment and a week later received a letter to say things had changed in my breast and an appointment for 3 days time at the BSU at QE.

I was beside myself and thought this is it for me.

My wonderful husband came with me and I had 2 mammograms then was told I needed an ultrasound scan. I waited thinking the worst as sitting there you can not help it. I was called through to meet the consultant radiographer and their team.

They were so lovely put me at ease did my ultrasound and ultimately said all was good... the relief and weight off your mind is emense.

I was extremely lucky to be given this news and my heart goes out to the ladies who's news is different... god bless you.

Thank you to this team who are so professional and amazng in the bitter sweet job they do. Where would we be without them. X X X

We’re sorry to hear about the loss of your father and that you have had such a difficult time. It is positive, however, to hear that your care was so exemplary at the QE during such a sensitive time, thank you for sharing your experience. We will pass your comments over to the staff in breastscreening.
