About: Leicester General Hospital / Urology

I am disgusted and shocked by my Mother's treatment at the hand of the clinical staff on Ward 22. They did not communicate well with her or us. The attitude of the Nursing staff: from support worker to the Consultant was derogatory to say the least. They did not communicate with the Consultants from Wards 28/29 where they moved my Mother from without explanation (by the way all staff on these Wards were excellent) as to what her needs were. They fobbed her family off, every time we asked for an explanation. There is no TV on this ward in order to give the patients some light relief. When we questioned this a staff member stated that they can't afford one. Patients are left in bed all day without any stimulation. My mother was not given a wash or a shower for 3 days, which is disgusting. She was discharged without any procedure taking place (as recommended by the Consultant on ward 29) and told to come back in 2 months by which time it may be to late. I am disgusted by thier bad practice and fully intend to make an official complaint. I shall also be contacting PILS, My local MP and The Leicester Mercury because I do not want any other patient to receive the appalling treatment my Mother did. So much for Duty of Care!!!
