Last stages that have given me confidence throughout my recovery in St Andrews.
I have worked closely with the patient experience team doing numerous things varying from,
New Staff Inductions
Interviewing Panels
Presenting to the Board of Directors
Staff awards ceremony
I then ventured into applying to work with the H&S team, was a trainee for 12 weeks learning all Safe Systems of works, working with the different agencies around site. I was part of the team that escorted the Care quality Commissioners on their inspection to a number of areas around site and gained knowledge and awareness on CQC information in the week they were on site. I have now become a volunteer within the same team and gained my unescorted leave to attend my workplace as a team member.. I'm taking my Level 2 Health & Safety certificate partnering with the British Safety Council.
I have excelled with confidence on communication, Risk awareness, taking on compliance Audits within the Charity both clinical and non clinical. I have gained great knowledge about the Charity through Health & Safety team and feel a valued member of the team.
The Health & Safety team have been very welcoming and understanding of my situation and need, and still treated me with dignity and respect.
I am thankful for being given this opportunity and a chance to excel through a pathway of which I never knew was open to me.
