"Fantastic care - ectopic pregnancy"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital / General surgery

I visited Stoke mandeville a&e in Aug16 with stomach pain at 6 weeks pregnant. I was called in for a scan first thing the following morning and was told I had an ectopic pregnancy which resulted in a ruptured Fallopian tube and not only would I lose the baby but I would need emergency surgery to have the tube removed. I can't put in to words just how compassionate the staff were. I was so scared but they made me feel like the most important person in the world. Every member of staff from the locum Doctor who carried out my surgery to the staff cleaning the floors went above and beyond to make sure every patient was happy and comfortable. Considering it was a terrible event in my life it makes me feel so lucky to have incredible people working for the NHS working so hard to change people's lives
