"childbirth"

About: Royal Albert Edward Infirmary / Maternity

10 days ago my wife gave birth at Wigan.

We were completely dissatisfied from start to finish, with the coldness and lack of interest from 90% of the staff.

Patients are made to feel like they are a hindrance and any requests or questions are met with tutting, huffing and eye rolling.

We could not wait to leave.

My wife had complications during birth and ended up with a brutal forceps delivery performed only under local anesthetic, no spinal anesthetic offered.

We would recommend anyone stays away from Wigan and instead have a ride up to Ormskirk where you will find some patience, understanding and good old bedside manner.
