What I liked
I was admitted to the maternity unit to be induced and straight away was told what was happening with my care and procedure. The midwives were encouraging and supportive throughout and I saw other women experiencing the same level of care. The maternity unit was clean and well staffed. The delivery/recovery rooms were en suite, well equipped and private.
What could be improved
There could be a better selection of food for vegetarians although I was given generous portions to compensate for the lack of choice!
Anything else?
After a complicated and prolonged labour that ended up with me delivering my son via an emergency C-section, myself and my husband still feel very positive about our experience. I think this is testament to the high level of care and compassion that we were shown by the midwives and other staff. Being a new Mum can be daunting enough but having to recover from surgery obviously makes it more so. I felt totally supported by the midwives at all times and think that they do an excellent job. I would like to thank all of the staff involved with mine and my son's care for their hard work and support.
