From diagnosis to my total ankle replacement and subsequent discharge from Wansbeck Hospital I have been treated with great compassion and respect by all involved. Starting with the reception Staff who were most helpful through to my Consultant and their dedicated orthopaedics team I always felt that I was positively involved in the process. The x-ray department were very efficient and friendly. I must also mention the Plaster department who can only be described as "Characters." They can make anyone laugh as they immobilise you. Finally to Ward Seven and hospital food. The staff there are very friendly, patient and extremely efficient. If the rest of the hospital are like them then there is no wonder that they are well respected. Who likes hospital food? Well I do. I did not expect what I got. Mealtimes are a pleasurable experience not to be missed. Someone is doing a cracking job on that front.
My operation is over and I am now in recovery mode. The pain has gone. and I look forward to a painless walking future given time. Once again, thank you Wansbeck Hospital.
