I was admitted to Petter Day Treatment Unit recently. Immediately welcomed by staff there, and shown to my cubicle. My reason for the surgery was to have a Trans Obturator tape fitted to correct stress incontinence plus a posterior repair. My allocated nurse showed me total respect and kept me fully informed of how the day would proceed. Being the third person on the surgery list settled down with a magazine to wait. A very lovely Anaesthetic Doctor then came to see me and further explain what was to happen. Once I was called through to the theatre my nurse walked with me, and the anaesthetic whom I had met earlier was waiting with a huge smile also her assistant. I was awakened sometime later in the recovery room by equally attentive staff nurses male and female. Then transferred to King George V ward. The staff there continually monitored my blood pressure temperature and oxygen levels. Were always checking my urine and writing information for my Consultant Mr S Eckford, who is a perfect gentleman in every way. The facilities on K G V are excellent and spotless clean.
