"Staff were friendly and helpful ..."

About: The Princess Royal Hospital (Telford)

(as the patient),

What I liked

Staff were friendly and helpful this includes the catering and cleaning staff. I was kept informed about what would happen to me during my hip operation and also the after care.

What could be improved

Would have liked some help to have a shower during my week in hospital. Had to make do with a wash and in the bathroom nowhere clean to put wash things down near you only on top of rubbish bin. Had to have items near as walking on crutches. I took in day clothes as I was told I would get dressed with help but this was not done.

Anything else?

I was in a bay of women patients but there were mens' wards and men walking about. I thought it was supposed to be single sex wards and not shared toilets/bathrooms. Felt rather vulnerable when going to bathroom in only a nightie.
