I had the misfortune of having to visit A&E on three separate occasions,in the space of a week. Five if you count attending review and fracture clinic. Firstly,my youngest son came off his BMX,secondly,my eldest son had some worry symptoms following hip surgery (carried out at Guy's), thirdly, my husband and 3 of our children were involved in a car accident. I think it is worth noting that the first two happened on a Saturday and Sunday. On every occasion, staff were fantastic. Receptionists, paramedics, radiographers, nurses, doctors, porters, plaster room staff, every one was brilliant. Treatment was thorough, carried out efficiently, with care and good humour. We were given really good, useful advice. With regards the car accident, my daughters thinks it was all a huge adventure,as they were so reassured and well cared for by the paramedics.Given the added complications of treating a patient who had just had surgery in a different hospital and health trust, as well as coping with a large family, some with additional needs, I was seriously impressed. Please pass on our thanks to all the staff.
