I am extremely distressed and disappointed with the treatment I have received over the last week or rather not received. I was originally booked in for keyhole surgery on for a liver biopsy. I arrived at 2pm as arranged after a lengthy wait I was taken in to a room only to be told the keyhole procedure was not going ahead because a radiologist had suggested a ultra scan biopsy which they thought would be a safer option. This had been decided during a morning meeting why no one called me to let me know this I have no idea. I was sent home being told the ultra sound scan would be scheduled over the next 10 days. As you can imagine I was very distressed as was my family I was told back in July I have a 7 x 5 growth and more than 6 weeks later we still do not know what we are dealing with. I arrived home to a call from the consultant to say I was booked in for the ultra sound scan two days later at 8am ward 501. Arriving at 8am I was told there wasn't a bed for me and was being admitted to 301. On arrival at 301 I had blood taken and told the biopsy would be at 2. 45 I was taken down at 2. 15 only to be told my blood had coagulated and the procedure could not go ahead. Once again I was being sent home. I refused to go as I wanted this procedure done once and for all. The registrar informed me they would carry out the biopsy the next again day, again this was cancelled due to 2 emergencies. Surely after waiting more than 6 weeks for a biopsy I am an emergency. I am now home again waiting for a call/letter as to when the procedure will be done. I really want some answers as to why this is taking so long to get the biopsy done!
