The experience of visiting the urgent centre was a nightmare..... When I arrived the waiting time was 3 hours which I thought was ok.... 6 hours later the waiting time was 5 hours. I asked the receptionist to give me an estimated time to be seen as I was there a lot longer than extended estimated waiting time, the response was: ' yes, you are here quite a long time, you will be seen very soon but I won't tell you when'. 45 minutes later I was still not seen and at least 5 patients that arrived after me were called. I was still not explained why I was not called. I left as I wasted all day and was not even told the reason why no one came to see me. I believe based on an assessment done by the nurse (who also did not really care about what my problem was) it was decided I was not an urgent case. Shame as my foot was in pain for over 7 days (I have tried to use ice pack, pain relief gels, etc. before seeking help) and I was struggling to walk. To summarise the staff was not helpful, not informative and had no understanding of why they were at the reception (chatting ang laughing). Shame on you Crawley hospital!
