I was referred to the Plastics unit Ward 15 at Stoke Mandeville hospital by the urgent Care unit at Hemel Hempstead recently following an accident at home the previous evening with my circular saw. I severed a tendon and badly lacerated my wedding ring finger and the ring! I was assessed and told I needed surgery the following day. I was admitted TO WARD 16 and had one op to clean out the wounds under general anesthetic and remained overnight on an antibiotic drip. I had a second op the following day to repair the tendon and for skin grafts and stitches to the lacerations. I am having on going treatment to dress the wounds and hand therapy for the repaired tendon. My consultant is Mr Budney and I should add I have also been seen as an outpatient at High Wycombe by Miss Mackie who I believe is part of Mr Budney's team.
I want to place on record my appreciation for the care and treatment I have had and am continuing to have. it is of the highest standard with all the doctors nurses and support staff being totally committed, friendly and with good humour. I cannot praise them highly enough
