Admitted 12.00 one day, allowed home 17.15 the next.
X-Ray and scans took forever to arrange and even longer for a Doctor to look at the results and allow Mum to go home.
All this time she was not allowed to eat.
Communication between the nurses, Doctors and Mum was fragmented and poor.
Long periods where absolutely nothing seemed to be happening until we chased things up.
Nurses seemed uninterested when asking what the delay was. Diagnosis was not serious and Mum was ok to go home but this could have been made within hours not a day and a half.
If hospital beds are scarce why keep someone in one that could have been sent home the same day if procedures were more fluid.
"29 hours to be assessed and sent home."
