I would just like to say that both times I recently had surgery their was very little info on post op repair, only a leaflet explaining to rest and gradually increase walking and weight bearing and do pelvic floor exercises.
However this time I found a great site online called 'patient info', you can register for the patient forums. There is an A-Z directory and can look up whatever health concerns you have. I joined the genitourinary (think spelling is correct) forum which covers all kinds of pelvic floor repairs, it allows you to text with other women who have undergone similar surgery, and Matron is on had if you need advice. They have also pinned up useful resource sites on the home page and is wonderful to have all thus support.
My question is why we women are not directed to this site it is a god send and can really put many patients minds at rest.
Many women use this site from not only the UK but around the world and can keep us all informed with what is happening within urogynecology, and most important the ability to compare patient experiences and inform research!
Come on GRI, allow us patients to become better informed!
