What I liked
I finally got an appointment for the foot clinic after waiting quite a while and as I suffer from panic attacks when in strange places phoned and asked if the waiting room had windows or if it was near a door to the outside. I was told the waiting room was right next to a door ( its not) and I could wait outside if I felt uncomfortable. On arriving for my appointemtn ( 25 mins early) I asked the girl at the desk if it was ok to wait in the corridor where there were windows and before she could answer another girl snapped at me that I couldn't as I wouldn't hear the doctor calling for me. My husband offered to wait and I had to stand in a corridor for 40 mins on my own which obviously made my nerves worst to go in. The girl was explained to that I had a nervous disorder I was offered a chair or they could listen out for me and they call me, ( obviously they would have to get up off their backsides and walk a couple of steps) I have another appointment there next week which I am cancelling now as I have dreaded the thought of having to go back there, which is a shame as I have been told I desparately need an operation on my foot. I know these places can't possibly cater for everyones needs and wishes but I did ring and ask prior to going about the waiting room and explained my situation. This girl needs some training in people and politeness skills. I hope she never has to deal with any type of depression or mental illness/panic attacks or agraphobia I pity anyone who has it and comes in contact with the girl.
What could be improved
Ask reasons for patients requests instead of jumping down their throats with mocking demands
Anything else?
An apology would have been nice but she'll still get paid won't she so why should she bother.
