My husband attended for an endoscopy this morning at 0845, 3 gentlemen were given the same appointment.
We booked in and sat and waited.
By 10am the consultant had not even arrived.
When he was finally called through he was told that his appointment was no longer necessary and that he should have received a letter! He was understandably very angry and upset having had nothing to eat for 24 hours and little sleep suffering the effects of the moviprep he had been prescribed.
His first 2 proceedures were at Chorley and we now understand the concensus that there is no communication between the 2 hospitals.
We have been given no results either from the consultant or via the GP.
I have contacted the secretary on several occasions all to no avail.
The GP has written in early May to which the reply was that he would be reviewed in 3 months, within a week of that letter we received todays appointment, I hope you can understand why we are totally confused.
We chose Preston over Blackpool as it has traditionally been regarded as the "better" hospital, we will now be requesting all further investigations be undertaken at Blackpool.
