On behalf of my family, I would like to thank the staff of Ward 18 in Wishaw General for their impeccable care of my 85 year old aunt, who was admitted in a very ill and weak state last weekend with a serious abdominal haemorrhage.
Sadly, she was too ill to survive, but we were absolutely blown away by the tenderness and kindness with which she was treated at all times. She was kept clean and comfortable and pain-free, and could not have received better treatment anywhere. All of the staff we encountered were wonderful - unfortunately I can't remember many names, however HCA A Walker, lead nurse Eileen and Dr B Sergeant are some of the people whose kindness and concern really made an impression on us.
We received a call during the night asking us to come, as my aunt's condition was deteriorating, and when we arrived a night staff nurse -whose name I sadly cannot recall - was sitting beside my aunt holding her hand, even though she was unconscious. This touched us greatly, and demonstrated true care and compassion.
Please pass our heartfelt thanks to all the staff involved for their tender care of our loved one, and for supporting us so compassionately through a very difficult time.
