I requested my 8 year old son be assessed for dyspraxia in November 2015. I have had to chase up the referral once already.
I received a letter today to tell me his appointment is on a weekday morning next week.
Regarding convenience it went on to say "we will make every effort to accommodate your needs...."
I am a full time working parent of 2 children and time off does not come easy.
So I called. I requested the 22/6/16 and without taking the time to even pretend to check for a further appointment I was cut off mid speech and told because your son is a new patient he will have to go back on the waiting list. Which is 18 weeks.
The lady on the phone didn't do anything wrong- but she didn't do anything right either.
He's waited this long so I'm sure another 6 months won't kill him. But really? I'm disgusted.
For an hours worth of someone's time she couldn't manage to consult the diary?
"Still waiting, 8 months @ Hull Community Paediatric Medical Services."
