My Grandmother was admitted to the CIC as she was very unwell. She is vulnerable has dementia and other significant health problems. She was left in a soiled night dress for over 12 hours, she got no assistance in washing and dressing this was left to family. Family was not given updates about her health, care or treatment, made to feel like a nuisance. She had been informed she needed a CT and Echo scan both of which were not done. Family not informed of discharge which meant that she had to travel home over 35miles in her nightdress and slippers. Discharge notes incomplete and missing vital information so GP is unclear on diagnosis, prognosis and treatment plan. Overall care is substandard and lacks dignity and respect.
"Very poor care for my vulnerable elderly..."
